A new Spark Extinguishing System supersedes previous technology
Systematic research by Electronic Wood Systems leads to a new generation of higher-efficiency Spark Extinguishing Systems. In arriving at a level of operation and performance in spark extinguishment, the German measurement systems company, Electronic Wood Systems ("EWS") has relied upon a background of several decades of analyzing, evaluating and building such systems. EWS's experience covers an intense study of the various types of competing equipment in this field, enabling (1) the identification and elimination of the weak points and (2) the development of an applicable new product for industry. The equipment of the two market leaders were tested most accuartly by EWS with their blowpipe test field which could be operated with an airflow velocity up to 36 m/s (7,000 fpm). This provided EWS with the opportunity to set higher standards for the effectiveness of spark detection and spark extinguishment, as well as improving the assembly of the required mechanism. As a result, also manufacturing and installation costs for the new EWS systems generation have been drastically reduced. In the broad view, all steps of development can be considered as a new generation of spark extingusihing systems. ______________________________________________________________________________
The research and development department at Electronic Wood Systems, Germany ("EWS") with it's highly qualified engineers, fundamental expert knoladge and decades of experience in spark detection and extinguishment has explored the Mode of Functioning again and introduces a new systems generation on LIGNA exhibition, Hanover 2011.
EWS Spark Detectors cover the full area of a blow-/exhaust pipe (no dead angle). Because the detectors are installed in pairs spark detection is redundant and highly secured. A new self-testing feature does not check the proper function of the detector only but also gives information if the optical lens is blinded.
EWS Extinguishing Devices use extremely efficient nozzles. Consumption of water for extinguishment is reduced by 30%. A new self-testing feature controls proper function of the water flow and the correct opening and closing mechanism of the spring loaded nozzle.
EWS Control Cabinets have selective controls for each zone (line). No complicate display-keyboard-handling anymore. Easy to operate. Safety-relays for secure controlling and timing of production machinery (alarm organization).
EWS Site Box System which is installed near the detectors and extinguishing devices reduces cabling by 50%. Only one cable required from Control Cabinet to protection zone.
